Thermally broken is a term used to describe a high-performance insulator material that separates two halves, whether aluminum, steel, or bronze.
The insulator reduces ‘thermal bridging’. Cold and heat can exit or enter the interior of the home through the solid metal perimeter frame or true divided muntins in NON thermally-broken or solid metal systems.
