AluClad Wood Aluminum PASSIVE WINDOWS

Wood-aluminum windows

PASSIVE is a high-performance wood-aluminum system designed specifically for passive housing applications. Thanks to its exceptional utility and durability in the form of superior thermal insulation, above-average airtightness, air permeability performance, and wind load resistance, this system is ideally suited for modern, energy-saving, and high-performance buildings.

Classic Passive, as a certified component of Passivhaus Institut, meets the strict requirements for passive housing standards: U-value of entire unit < 0.14 in combination with triple-pane glazing where Ug-factor = 0.14 or less.

The system utilizes innovative insulation material of high durability based on foamed polystyrene (PS), which shares similar properties to wood. Thanks to its high level of rigidity, frame clips can be screwed directly into it. Additional components that distinguish this system from traditional AluClad designs include broader main gaskets, PE cord, and additional central gaskets for enhanced performance.

Key Features:

  1. Welded corner connection for superior strength and air sealing

  2. Crimped corner connections for enhanced assembly options

  3. Certified wood section thickness: 3 1⁄16″ (78 mm)

  4. Certified glazing thickness: 1 7⁄8″ (48 mm)
